METALLURGICAL CORED WIRE

Cored wire is utilized for de-oxidation and inclusions modification in secondary steel metallurgy. Calcium based ferro alloys like Calcium Iron (CaFe) wire, Ferro Calcium Silicide (CaSi) wire, Pure Calcium (Ca) wire improves the steel castability and cleanliness of steel. Cored wires like Sulphur, Lead, Ferro Titanium, Ferro Boron, Ferro Vanadium are added to liquid steel as an alloying element for production of special steel. Cored Wire is the superior method of Calcium treatment of steel that ensures cost efficiency, safe handling, safe usage and reproducible results.

Research & Development

SW-Cal ®

Ultra-High yield seamless cored wires have been successfully created and introduced to the market by Wire Injection Technologies. We have developed a novel product, Seamless Pure Ca Cored Wire (SW-Cal®), which offers highly reproducible Ca recovery for improved cost efficiency, thanks to continuous technological developments. Our method has produced a stable variety of products with hitherto unheard-of benefits like higher yields, less fuming and splashing, and considerably less variation in element ppms. The SW-Cal® ensures a reliable calcium treatment approach for steel producers, offering advantages such as:
  • Consistent calcium recoveries from one heat to another
  • Stable calcium yield in the furnace with minimal fluctuation
  • Reduced splashing, promoting an eco-friendly environment
  • Diminished calcium fade at the caster
  • Increased feeding depth for better results
  • Optimal inclusion control
  • Highest recoveries with the lowest calcium consumption
  • Extended shelf life.
